Classes Begin Thursday, February 8, 2024.

Time: Thursdays, 10:00-12:00

Family worship time; parents have equipping time and fellowship while kids are in class.

PARENT TIME TOPIC FOR SPRING: Relational Wisdom

Curriculum Focus: Math

PLEASE NOTE: In additional to class costs there is a $50/family membership fee per semester.

We will look at questions such as, “Is the Bible reliable? Is there proof that the resurrection really happened? Do science and the Bible conflict?”

In this class, we will do some speech and debate to practice contending for our faith.

Each class in the Fletcher Academy will have a series of verses to memorize along with the concepts to be learned.

Students will need to purchase the book, Know Why You Believe by Paul Little.

 

Ages 8+

Teacher: Alethea Stickel

Learn the basics of cooking with simple recipes and hands-on lessons.

A small materials fee for each student will be collected at the beginning of the semester.

Ages: 10+

Teacher: Garth Myers

Students will continue to build vocabulary and will construct more complicated sentences in the second semester.

Students will learn: the continuous present (I am walking) and the simple future (I am going to walk). 

Students will also learn locations (church, home, theater, etc.), family relationships, interrogatives (who, when, how many, etc.), and how to use pronouns and prepositions. 

 

Ages 4-7

Teacher: Beverly Williams

The benefits of games for learning math skills has been well documented. This class will be reinforcing additional facts and introducing multiplication by 2s and 3s through music, movement, and stories. Half the class the children play games. Games provide motivation, create meaningful situations for practice, develop positive attitudes, increase learning, allow children to operate independently at different levels, provide opportunities for hands-on and interactive experiences.

Taught By Mrs. Beverly Williams, the Brainiac Baroness, a homeschooling mom who has successfully launched four children into the world, will enrich your homeschooling experience by challenging your children to think critically and build skills through music, games and interaction with other kids that you can't always get at home.

Requirements:  Be able to recognize numbers 1-20 and count  1-20. No writing is required.

Ages 6-12

Teacher: RoseAnne Gallegos

This class is a wonderful opportunity for your child to experience different styles, aspects and elements of performance in a fun and educational environment.

The instructor, RoseAnne Vau Gallegos has a BFA in Theatre Arts/Acting from UNM and a MA in Communications in Acting for film and television and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild/AFTRA and has taught children for many years.

We will explore and participate in exercises, drama games, and activities such as: acting in scenes both for stage and in front of a camera, improvisations, short monologues, mock auditions, solo or duet singing or possibly fun karaoke… all with instruction for technique and creativity.

Each class will delve into a new element and type of performance and being in front of a friendly audience. For the final school wide showcase, your child can choose one of the activities from class that they particularly enjoyed.

 

Ages 2-5

Teacher: Minda Grimes

Young students will build and create through different materials each week such as wooden blocks, magnetic tiles, big Legos, crafting items, and boxes.

Students will get messy, sing songs, and read a Bible story as they learn through play.
